No chocolate muffins or chocolate chip scones recipes will appear, because even if they contain those words, you are asking Google, with the quotes, to search for an exact phrase.
Search in Google by file type: Filetype
It is not very frequent to do a search hoping to find a certain type of file, that is, instead of a traditional web page, it will show us PDF, Excel or Word files. But, maybe for some reason, especially in cases of deeper research, academic or journalistic, you want this.
Then, suppose you are looking for animal fauna in Mexico. If you want to see that topic but only in PDF files, add it to the search filetype: pdf. Then you have animal fauna in Mexico filetype: PDF and the results that Google will give you will only be of this type of files.
Search in Google information of a specific site: Site
You remember that you read a very interesting note about Pedro Almodóvar on Elpais.com. The usual thing is to enter the site of the newspaper and put the name of the director in your search engine. But it’s more effective than Google searching for it. Why? Because Google’s tools for tracking information are more effective than the internal search engines of websites.
How you do? Simple. You put in Google: Pedro Almodóvar site: elpais.com and he will throw you all the notes of that site about the film director.
Search in Google by title: allintitle
There are thousands of notes that name Pedro Almodóvar, but do not necessarily speak of him. For example: articles about the actors and actresses who worked with him or about prizes he presented. Tooooodas those notes will go googling Pedro Almodóvar. 425,000 results.
Now, if I just want notes that have the name of the director in the title I put allintitle: pedro almodóvar and bingo! The search is reduced to 48,000 results, only 10% of the total.
